Here is the posting that the governor has asked for . Gilboa-Conesville Central School COVID-19 Testing In the event that a large-scale testing will need to be conducted at the school, the district administration will work with the NY State Department of Health and our local Schoharie County Health Department. NYS Department of Health serves as the mandatory baseline of health and safety protocols for school districts to follow. Testing is part of a continuum of mitigation efforts that includes mandatory daily screening, testing for symptomatic individuals or exposures and contract tracing in the event of a positive case. If anyone has or is suspected of having COVID-19 symptoms, they will be referred to their primary care physician, closest urgent care center or the Schoharie County Department of Health to be directed to a testing site. • Schoharie County Health Department: 518-295-8365 Screening All visitors: All visitors will be required to complete a five-question survey prior to entering any district building, with the following questions: • Have you had COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days? These symptoms include: sore throat, cough, chills, body aches for unknown reasons, shortness of breath for unknown reasons, loss of smell, loss of taste, or fever at or greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. • Have you had a positive diagnostic COVID-19 test in the past 14 days? • Have you had close contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case in the past 14 days? • Have you been under quarantine and not cleared to return to work? • Have you traveled to a state covered by the COVID 19 Travel Advisory in the last 14 days? Staff: All staff will be required to fill out a self-screening survey prior to the school year stating that every day they come to work they have taken their temperature and it is below 100, they have not taken a fever reducing medicine, and have not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms. Students: All students families will be required to fill out a self-screening survey prior to the school year stating that every day the student comes to work the parent has taken the students temperature and it is below 100, they have not taken a fever reducing medicine, and have not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms. All: If during a school day, anyone has a temperature reading above 100° F, or if the student or staff member reports experiencing other COVID-19 related symptoms, the student or staff member will be quarantined or isolated in the building’s dedicated “isolation” rooms, and the parents/guardians will be notified if a student. The student will wait in the isolation room until his or her/parents arrive. The staff member will leave the building. Our building has designated three isolation rooms, apart from the nursing suite that will be monitored by personnel if a student or staff member needs to be placed in isolation. Face masks and other PPE must be worn at all times in the isolation room. Nurses, and all other personnel in contact with the person, will be protected with masks, eye protection, face shields, gowns, gloves and shoe covers. If, during the course of a school day, students and/or staff develop any symptoms listed they must notify the following person(s): Staff: Staff who develop symptoms should contact our school nurse or the District Office. Gilboa-Conesville Central School Gilboa-Conesville Central School Alissa Cox School Nurse Jack Etter, Superintendent Phone: (607) 588-7541 Phone: (607) 588-7541 Students: Students who develop symptoms should contact their school nurse: Gilboa-Conesville Central School Alissa Cox School Nurse Phone: (607) 588-7541 Contact Tracing: The district will notify the state and local health department immediately upon being informed of any positive COVID-19 diagnostic test result by an individual within school facilities or on school grounds, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the district. To assist the local health department with tracing the transmission of COVID-19, the district has developed and maintained a plan to trace all contacts of exposed individuals in accordance with protocols, training, and tools provided through the New York State Contact Tracing Program. Districts may assist with contact tracing by: • Keeping accurate attendance records of students and staff members • Ensuring student schedules are up to date • Keeping a log of any visitor which includes date and time, and where in the school they visited • Assisting the local health departments in tracing all contacts of the individual in accordance with the protocol, training, and tools provided through the NYS Contact Tracing Program. • Confidentiality must be maintained as required by federal and state laws and regulations. School staff should not try to determine who is to be excluded from school based on contact without guidance and direction from the local health department. Remote Learning Remote learning students will be scheduled to have instruction in an online environment. In the Secondary School (grades 7-12) in a remote setting, students will run on a regular secondary school schedule. When online, we will make some classes a few minutes less so students and teachers can transition to the next online class. In the elementary (grades pre-k – 6) students will start the day online with their teacher and have built in breaks that are more age appropriate. Positive action will be used weekly (our social emotional training) and teachers, service providers, and LTA’s will be in contact with all students that have these services to make sure students are getting their required services.
