From Sra Wilson's Spanish II Class:
We are in the Level 2 Spanish class and we performed a skit of the legend La Llorona. It is a story about a woman named Maria who drowned her two children after her husband had left her. It is an old story that originated from Mexico and Guatemala. Cody Ciaravino played the part of Maria, Gavin Bohringer played the part of the father and one of the kids and Garrison Ross also played as a child.

Our GCR boys traveled to Oneonta on Saturday to take on Walton/Downsville for the Delaware League Championship. Early in the first half Walton/Downsville would take a 1-0 lead. The score would stay that way until Gavin Bohringer (Gilboa) found the back of the net with 13 minutes left in the game to tie it up at 1-1. Our boys offense would continue to put pressure on the Walton /Downsville defense for the rest of the game but could not come up with the go ahead goal. The score would end up 1-1 , and our boys would be named Co -Champions. Congratulations to our boys for finishing the regular season with a league championship!
Up next for our boys is the section 4 soccer tournament. GCR earned the #2 seed and will take on #7 Worcester on Saturday October 20th at 1:00 in Gilboa.
GCR is now 11-2-3 and finished with a league record of 7-0.

Last night, the GCR JV girls traveled to Norwich to challenge the Purple Tornadoes for their last match of the season. They started off strong with excellent passing and attacking on offense, but were not able to keep up their momentum in the first half. However, in the second half, the girls came out fighting, not willing to give up, scoring off of a deflection from a shot on goal by Quinnci Olmstead. The girls played hard all the way until the end. Despite the loss, the girls showed their grit and huge improvement over the season, playing against much bigger and more experienced schools. Keep working hard in the off-season, ladies! Good luck to the girls who will be joining the varsity team in the post-season!
