The Gilboa-Conesville Central School Library is celebrating National Library Lovers Month with their Book Tower Challenge! This exciting activity is part of the library's "Reading is Sweet" display.

The library is not just about borrowing books; it’s about creating a love of learning, building connections through literature, and celebrating the joy of reading in all its forms.  It’s a great way to highlight the importance of library resources, encourage students to engage with the catalog, and—of course—celebrate reading in the sweetest way possible. Students and library enthusiasts are putting their knowledge of the OPALS Library catalog to the test, matching book description cards to the perfect titles in the library’s collection. The goal? To build the tallest towers they can, using books that match the details on the description cards.

Each card provides a hint or clue about a book’s keywords, series or subject, and participants must search the OPALS catalog to find the corresponding book. With a bit of creativity and library savvy, they stacked their books high in the challenge, showing off their reading and cataloging skills! Kudos to School Librarian Aurora Cookhouse in developing this fun way to learn!
