Indirect Consultant Teacher Services

Indirect CT services mean consultation provided by a certified special education teacher to a general education teacher to assist the general education teacher in adjusting the learning environment and/or modifying his/her instructional methods to meet the individual needs of a student with a disability who attends the general education class. Students with a low level of academic or behavior support needs. Students who are independent, benefit from having the curriculum scaffolded or differentiated. Services may be in addition to the Resource Room.

Resource Room

Resource Room programs are for the purpose of explicit instruction, pre-teaching and/or re-teaching content and skills based on individual student goals. This instruction is not provided in place of the student's regular academic instruction. For students who need skills based explicit instruction to pre-teach or re-teach content, and/or align content. Instruction is based on individual student needs and IEP goals. Service may be in addition to consultant teaching or stand alone.

Primary Instruction Special Class

Specialized academic instruction in a content area subject in a special education setting which aligns with the state content standards. Students may also require Resource Room or services in other areas. For students with significant academic weaknesses who would not benefit from instruction in general education even with Resource Room and/or other services. Students who are at least 2 years below in reading and or math and have not previously been successful in mainstream classes with other services.
