GCR Fall Sports Update 9/12/26: Varsity Boys Soccer

On Saturday our GCR boys would play Walton/Downsville in the championship game of the Downsville tournament. GCR would take any early lead in the first half on a goal from Chris Cox to give our boys a 1-0. Our boys would have several opportunities to increase that lead , but would go into halftime up 1-0. 

The start of the second half, W/D would come out and tie the score 1-1. The game would stay tied until 14:00 minutes left, that is when Dom Grieco made an absolute beautiful pass to Gavin Bohringer who found the back of the net and gave our boys a 2-1 lead . W/D would continue to press, but key saves by Eric Pettersen in goal would give our boys a 2-1 victory and the tournament championship! Our boys are now 3-0 on the season and will play Stamford/Jefferson on Monday night.
